Brighton Jetty Classic Sculptures was inspired by Brighton Surf Life Saving Club members after experiencing Sculptures by the Sea at Cottesloe Beach WA. The day I went it was very busy with visitors strolling along the sea front viewing the sculptures while others spent time sailing or swimming with their dogs. I met two lovely Greyhounds walking their owners and shared a table overlooking the beach with an elderly woman, passing the time of day while we chatted and drank our coffees.
All the sculptures have an environmental awareness theme.
Sculpture based on declining fish stocks
This depicts fish escaping from trawler nets
I am not sure what this one was about but it did claim to be interactive
The four elements of wind, water earth and fire
The Time Keeper, keeping watch over the exhibition
This one was about loosing keys on the beach and friends helping to find them.
I think I must of missed a bit?
The plight of African wildlife. This was a tall sculpture as I was standing underneath it looking straight up
Even the rubbish bins are interesting
Viewing the sculptures from a different angle
The old Brighton jetty was replaced with this rather bland concrete one
You have captured an amazing set of photos of the exhibition the beach setting for the sculptures was brilliant.
